Meet The Doctors
Clayton Gautreaux, DDS
Dr. Clayton Gautreaux is a graduate of Texas Tech University and received his doctorate in Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1979. That same year, he moved to Mabank and established his practice, Mabank Dental and Orthodontics, where he provides the latest advancements in dentistry and utilizes state of the art technology to provide his patients with the utmost in care and comfort.
Over the years, Dr. Gautreaux has been very active in the community and has participated in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, PTA and coached Little League sports. He has served in Tejas Missions, a Christian organization serving the dental and medical needs in Central America. He currently serves on the board of directors at Texas Health Resources, Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman.
Clayton is married to Lori and they have three grown children and three grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, traveling and is an avid golfer.
Karina Spore, DDS
Dr. Karina Spore grew up in New Jersey and practiced Dentistry in Manhattan for five years prior to her relocation to Dallas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management with a Minor in Biology and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She completed her Advance Education in General Dentistry residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Spore is an active member of the Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dallas County Dental Society, the American Dental Association and actively increases her knowledge base through continuing education. She joined Mabank Dental in 2014 and is dedicated to providing gentle quality dental care to all of her patients.
Dr. Spore resides in Heath, Texas, with her husband Kyle. When not practicing dentistry she enjoys traveling, yoga, painting, and exploring new restaurants. She is also fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
David D. Simmons, DDS
Dr. David D. Simmons (note his initials are DDS) was born to be a dentist and is proud to be a fifth-generation dentist tracing back to 1848! He graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1993 and has since been in private practice. In 2006, Dr. Simmons established a dental practice in Jacksonville, Texas, which he sold and has returned to Mabank Dental where he had previously worked with Dr. Clayton Gautreaux.
Dr. Simmons is dedicated to dentistry and has worked in the “dry mouth” clinic at Baylor helping patients suffering from Sjögren’s Syndrome and other diseases that cause dry mouth. He stays current with advanced dental technologies and is committed to providing the best care for his patients.
David is married to Lana, a registered nurse, and she is originally from Eustace. They have one son, Dustin, who is a student at the University of Texas – Dallas, studying game design and development. In his spare time, Dr. Simmons enjoys riding motorcycles, fishing, playing the guitar and the harmonica.

Samuel Ellsworth, DDS, MS
Dr. Sam Ellsworth joined the United States Navy in 1992 after graduating from High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in 1998, while simultaneously serving in the Navy. After leaving Austin, Dr. Ellsworth was stationed in Pensacola, Florida and Corpus Christi, Texas while attending Naval Flight School where he flew the T-34. Stationed aboard the supercarrier USS George Washington. Dr. Ellsworth was involved in our country’s post-9/11 efforts off the coast of New York.
Dr. Ellsworth discovered his passion for dentistry while serving in the Navy. Upon discharge from the Navy, he attended the University of Houston and taught biology while awaiting entrance to dental school. In 2006, Dr. Ellsworth began his dental education at Baylor College of Dentistry. After graduating, he began advanced training in Periodontics and completed a three-year residency also at Baylor. Dr. Ellsworth is Certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
When Dr. Ellsworth is not at his office, he spends as much time as possible with his wife Virginia as well as Ryan, Lily, and Grace, his 3 children. He teaches Sunday school and is involved in missions at Highland Park United Methodist Church. He has been involved in dental mission work such as The Texas Mission of Mercy and others for more than 9 years. He enjoys camping, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, scuba diving, reading, and traveling.
Dentistry For Children
Daniel Donohue, DDS
Dr. Daniel Donohue was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from the university of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He continued his education at the University of Texas Health and Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1986 and practiced as a general dentist until 1989. He then entered a postdoctoral pediatric dentistry program and received his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 1991.
Dr. Donohue is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the Fort Worth Dental Society.
Dr. Donohue joined Mabank Dental in 2010, offering full-service dentistry for children. He believes in treating every child as if they were his own and partners with parents to provide a compassionate and positive experience.
Daniel’s wife, Marla, is also a dentist and they have two children.
